Gibbs Hill Lighthouse
Gibbs Hill Lighthouse is one of the of the oldest cast iron lighthouses in the world and its beam can seen by ships 40 miles away, warning them of Bermuda's treachourous reefs. It was built in 1846 and stands nearly 362 feet above sea level. For a panoramic view of Bermuda and its shoreline, there is no better place than seeing it from the balcony at the top of Gibbs Hill Lighthouse - there are 185 stairs to the top! Open Monday to Saturday from 9.30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m, Sunday and Holidays 10 am - 4.30 pm. Closed Christmas Day and in January OR February for repairs - call first before visiting during these months. Entry fee is $2.50, paid at the gift shop.
