Fort Hamilton

Fort Hamilton is an excellenct example of the mid-Victorian polygonal fort in Bermuda and its ramparts command a spectactular view of the city and harbour. The Royal Engineers cut through solid rock to create the dry moat, in the 1870's - today it is planted as a garden. The Fort is maintained by the City of Hamilton and is free of charge. On Mondays at 12 noon, from November to March, the Bermuda Islands Pipe Bands performs the Skirling Ceremony and visitors can enjoy the music of the pipes and drums and watch some highland dancing.
